I have one Dan - Not built it though - I think there are a number of issues with the accurtacy in places of the kit and the intake issues - apart from that it goes together well.

It's a really good kit, just the main canopy needs a bit of blending in, and the wing attachment is a bit fiddly, and the gear and bays could be a bit more detailed. Aside from that, it's great, one of the best ever kits from Airfix.

Re: Airfix 1/72 Nimrod
I built one four years ago when I was just getting back into the hobby again. It is largely a nice kit, but does have the pitfalls the others have mentioned. With regards to intakes being incorrectly shape, I believe the landing lights are in the wrong location. Additionally, I seem to remember needing to shorten the main undercarriage legs as they were a bit tall, giving the aircraft a nose down stance. There are no flaps provided underneath the engine exhausts- this is true of the MRA.4, but not the earlier Nimrods. That said, if you're mounting it in flight I don;t suppose either are a problem for you. Finally, the decal sheet is pants! Airfix decided the cover the entire sheet with a carrier film, so you need to trim each and every decal (and there's a lot of them!) to size before applying. I can assure you, that is a ballache!
I'd recommend getting some aftermarket decals to preserve your sanity, and there are resin correction sets for the intakes available from Alley Cat should you decide you can't live them as they come.

DMold does a forward fuselage correction set including transparency, ordered one of these up for someone when I used to import DMold goods and it's the usual DMold high quality.

Model Alliance did a range of stencil sheets for each colour scheme available OOB. I'm pretty sure Hannants still stock their stuff since they ceased trading, though availability may be limited.
