Trumpeter 1:48 Supermarine Attacker F.1 Fighter
I have been thinking for some time now that I ought to post a build on the forum, but choosing one was a tad difficult.
So, when I saw this in my local hobby shop, I knew I had found the right kit.
I made up the Trumpeter 1:48 Kriegsmarine Sea Hawk a while back and it was an absolute joy to build. So, although 1:48 is not my scale of choice, I thought I'd give this a whirl especially as I do not have an Attacker in my Brit collection.
Now this may take some time as I have a 'commission' to build a 1:400 Titanic by the end of November so that will have to take priority.
Thanks for looking
Ab

Interesting choice of build Alan, I've seen a lot of reviews and comments on this kit but never seen one built so will be watching with interest.

Thanks guys, but please, don't expect anything to your standards.
I have actually started this build. Whilst waiting for other stuff to dry I decided to put some of the sub-assemblies together.
This shot shows the wheel wells in place, the wings cut in order to fold them and the tips assembled and finally part of the tail section.
I was looking on the internet for pictures of the seat in order to start painting it. It was then I realised that the kit seat wasn't perhaps the best and so ordered a Pavla replacement. Although they say this seat is for the FB-2, they also claim it can be used for the Wyvern, so I'm guessing it will be OK for the Attacker version I am doing too.
I don't know whether you can tell, but the moulding on the resin seat is not up to Pavla's usual crisp standard, but it's still much better than the kit seat.
Hopefully I will soon get some parts painted.
Cheers

Very nice choice and I`m looking forward to the progress.
I`m finding that as I age, I`m tending to much prefer builds of the older types.

Thanks guys.
I have had to do some work on the pit to get the seat to fit, but it does now.....
however, I've had to do this to get there.....
The base of the seat is 3-4mm below the cockpit floor.
What I will probably do is add another lower floor to the cockpit, bit leave where the console attaches to the kit (the rectangular slot you can see in the first photo).

Well the pit is painted and the seat. It would appear that these early jet cockpits were quite bland
being mainly black.
Here are a couple of shots before the cockpit was put in the fuselage. The seat isn't attached as I won't to make absolutely sure the canopy will close over the top.
Once this was done I was able to close up the fuselage and add the wings.
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Sorry I have been away a bit, I needed to meet some deadlines with some GB's.
But now I am going to try to focus on this.
