Academy 1:32 F-16I Sufa
Afternoon ( or as it's so dark and gloomy here in North Wales it could easily be evening or even Night ) gents,
This will be my entry to the UK Airshowe Review "Big Scale" Group Build, Academy's lovely F-16I Sufa, with the Eduard Big-Ed set thrown in as well.
A quickly taken photo to show you all what I have got for this one.
- Academy F-16I Sufa
- Eduard F-16I Sufa Big-Ed Set, consisting of from Left to Right;
Paint Mask
Exterior
Ladder
Self-Adhesive Interior
Israeli RBF Tags
Sufa Seatbelts
Undercarriage
Should make a start on this very soon, hopefully this week.
Kind Regards,
Tom

Re: Academy 1:32 F-16I Sufa
Unfortunately nothing to show, but I have put the CFT's, spine and some photo etchg on, and the CFT's and spine were a flaming pain. Needs rescribing and some filler, which I'm not happy about, but it's not too bad.
Add to this the fact I'm working on a major SAM project ( to be revealed soon ) and manic shifts at work and I haven't had a lot of time on the Sufa, but that should change very soon due to the way my shifts are arranged....

Re: Academy 1:32 F-16I Sufa
I kow the feeling - I just finished the HK Models B-25 and am building an Airfix Merlin for mags at the moment and have another one on the go after that. Also am building the F-100 for UKAR and still have a Mig 29UB to complete for a client!
From memeory the CFT's were stuck in place with really strong Mek weld on mine, they were sods to sit straight, but did not require much filler. It does build into a nice kit after that - just watch the front intake as that was a bit difficult to fit from memory

Right guys, after an eternity, I have a small update for you all! Just a quickly taken photo before I went to work ( spent a bit too long building this thing today, almost missed the bus... )
Will post a few more shots tomorrow, but this is how she stands at the moment....
If that's wetted your appetite, there is more coming tomorrow..... :heyhey:
Regards,
Tom

Re: Academy 1:32 F-16I Sufa
Right oh, another update, with the wings, tail and nosecone all now assembled onto the kit.
The fit of the tailplanes is superb, however the fit of the wings is a little stark. Some filler will be needed to blend them into the fuselage, as there is a small gap, but nothing serious and I should be starting to paint this thing very soon.
Here's how things were at the start of play.
A shot of the cockpit. Still some work to do, but it's getting there.
Where we are as of now. Note the few seams that need to be tidied up.
Close up of wings and spine etc.
Just have a few antennae, the canopy and all it's bits and pieces, eduard exterior set and some tidying up to go before I can commence painting, which I'm looking forward to immensely!
Kind Regards,
Tom
