Winter is coming
Now that Winter is knocking on the door, what builds do you have planned for those Dark Nights that lie ahead?
Hopefully once the new arrival settles in I'm planning on building an
AB205
or if I can find the conversion for it a
TA-7C Corsair

Re: Winter is coming
Well I have one of these to build as a commission:
I also have a Mk 9 or Mk16 Spitfire to build for myself which will most likely be my Christmas build!

I'm looking forward to getting into the Airfix Lynx HMA8 next, or the Revell FA-18F SuperHornet...but with my birthday coming up in a week or so maybe there will be a few surprises to build!!

Re: Winter is coming
The "Twosair" that you saw would've been by Hobbyboss as they are the only company that's ever made the twin seat version of the "SLUF" in 1/72 or 1/48. What started out as a potentially great project by HB, unfortunately ended with a kit that suffers from major shape issues from the wings forward with both scales suffering.
I'll be converting the 1/48 Hasegawa A-7E into a TA-7C using the RVHP conversion, if I can ever find one.

It was indeed the hobbyboss, i was looking at the A7 with the wings folded up by the same manufacturer but i have since read that this model has similar issues

Re: Winter is coming
I just picked up a Mig 21 UB today from the IPMS Fenland show - the questionis do I build this one into a Dio (taking off, gear retract) or do I go with the Spitfire?
I do really have to start building a Tornado GR4 in 32nd scale sometime soon - But I have been saying that for the last 2 years - Maybe I just need to grow some balls!

Re: Winter is coming
I've got an Academy 1:32 F-16I Sufa, with the Eduard Big-Ed set to accompany it, the Revell 1:72 BV 222 ( which I will be weathering to heck out of, got a few ideas in my mind on how to do that one ) and the Tamiya 1:32 Spitfire MK XVI. And with SAM builds too, this winter may be a winter to remember!

Re: Winter is coming
Well I have a few options to decide from but have decided an order to get a few builds done that are sat in the stash,
1. Finish off my Lebanese Hunter
2. Italeri F-15E Strike Eagle - to be finished as a Lakenheath jet, particularly my German teachers friend's aircraft, who was a pilot at Lakenheath but is now at Nellis
3. I am undecided so far on what to do after this however what the third build is to be either a 1/48th F-105G or a 1/32nd Phantom - to be honest it is probably going to be the phantom as I have had it for so long and well it will be pretty awesome to make

Re: Winter is coming
There are some great builds people have lined up for the winter months.
I have so many kits that I don't know what is next. With the mojo flagging at the moment too I'm finding that I am starting builds and then putting them on, what someone has called, "The Shelf of Doom".
Hopefully i'll put a WIP on the Work In Progress thread soon, but with over 300 kits to choose from, I really do not know what one it will be.

Re: Winter is coming
To be honest, it would be nice just to finish something! My motivation is at an all time low at the moment, so I need to clear a few builds to try and rekindle it. The only real commitment I have is to build a Horsa for a friend, then it'll be a case of whatever takes my fancy. My 1:32 Arado 196 keeps catching my eye, so that might be my major winter project. We shall see...

Conversion set arrived today, imagine my excitement that finally after 4 years of looking for one I was actually holding one in my hands. It just had to be opened there and then to inspect the contents, then my World came crashing down around me. The f***ing replacement upper wing root is missing rendering the whole set USELESS!!!
Totally gutted
Re: Winter is coming

Bigger result is that I've found a replacement set as well, typical you wait for ages without any then a few all turn up at the same time. Hopefully this one will be complete.
