Hellenic Air Force/Navy/Army
Feel free to add any reference material on the Hellenic Air Force and aviation branches of the Hellenic Navy and Hellenic Army here.
Since I have an obsession with them I suppose it's only fair that start things off.

F-16 Camouflage and Paint Guides
Here are some camouflage and paint guides for the various versions of the F-16 in Hellenic service.
With the current Hasegawa kits providing a totally incorrect guide these should be of use to anyone planning building a Hellenic 'Viper'.
F-16C/D Blk52+ & Blk52 Adv (note that all the Blk52+ a/c have the "Have Glass"paint finish which gives it a metallic sheen and a rather dirty appearance, the Blk52 Adv jets don't).
F-16C/D Blk 30/50 (note the differences between the Blk 30 and Blk 50 around the tail area and rear stabs in the first link, also the Blk50's tend to weather rather quickly and take on a "patch work" effect. On both the Blk30/50 the radome is FS36118 Gunship Grey ).

External differences between the different Hellenic F-16 Blocks
Very useful reference on the external differences between the different Blks of F-16 within the Hellenic AF.

Re: Hellenic Air Force/Navy/Army
Those links are great Scott, sadly the link to the decals didn't work though!
Are there any differences between the Greek and Luftwaffe RF-4Es? I'm not a Toom expert so anything to watch for would be useful!

Re: Hellenic Air Force/Navy/Army
Try this one http://www.threestarsdecals.com/
The two RF-4E's that were painted in the special schemes were ex Luftwaffe examples and they don't differ from their time with the Luftwaffe. The original 8 RF-4's supplied to Greece direct from the factory back in 1976 do differ in many ways but that's for another day........
Any questions just ask

Re: Hellenic Air Force/Navy/Army
That's a good start! Do those decals have to be ordered from Greece? They look excellent but my Greek is a bit rusty! It's still in the "to build" pile so not a priority but I think that settles the matter they do look good. Saw the real one at RIAT too so pretty much a no brainer!

Three Star Decals are a one man band, and as far as I know can only be bought direct from John. What browser are you using Craig, as Google Chrome will automatically translate the text for you. Or when you're ready give me a shout and I'll contact him for you.

Correct Ex Luftwaffe RF-4E Phantom Colours and Pattern guide
Greece bought two batches of RF-4E's, the first batch of 8 a/c came direct from the factory in 1978 and a second batch of ex Luftwaffe examples during the mid 90's. With Hasegawa providing the wrong information for their RF-4E kit I thought I would post the correct information. Most of the ex Luftwaffe RF-4E's still retain the Norm83A scheme as worn during their Luftwaffe service which consists of wrapround......
FS34079 Forest Green
RAL7021 Schwarzgrau
RAL6003 Olivgrun
This is Hasegawa's wrong paint and decal placement guide.
1/ Only showing 1 Green (not even the correct Green as FS34097 wasn't used in Norm83A) and Schwrazgrau (RAL7021) as well as the wrong pattern.
2/ The Macedonia Sun roundel located on the Upper Wing surface is on the wrong side and both Upper and Lower roundels should be on the Starboard(Right).
This is the correct colours and pattern, although as with most camouflage patterns there are variations in actual layout(CHECK REF's)
and the correct Roundel placement

Re: Hellenic Air Force/Navy/Army
Here's a couple of photos I've never seen before of two Hellenic F-4E's while on their delivery flight, note the extra large and Lighter Blue roundels and fin flashes which were later replaced with the smaller and darker type. The last SEA F-4E of the HAF was noted in 1996.
