Hi All

not posted much for a while so thought I would put a couple of a recent build. It is the Airfix 1/48 Hawk done in 100 years of naval aviation markings. Xtradecals provided the markings and they were a good set.
The kit though was not great - really 'clunky' and can't say I enjoyed it that much!
painted with Tamiya and some coats of Klear for the gloss finish. Hope it is of interest.

Maybe not the best of kits, but you've done a good job out of it all the same. Sometimes these builds can help with trying out new techniques or just building up the confidence.

Personally, I like the airfix hawk, even if it is a little unwieldy in places... I remember fondly chucking together two of them a couple of years back as one of the display hawks, and the camo one. You have done a great job on this one, and a great choice of subject- you have gotta be happy with that!

Maybe I'll give one another go at some point! I certainly have loads of 1/48 hawk decals now to use up!

The Italeri one is by all accounts much better- wouldn't mind doing an ASTRA/ETPS Raspberry Ripple one some day!
