1/48 Italeri Stuka B-2
Hi all
A couple of pics of my latest build, the rather good newish stuka from Italeri. Really enjoyed this kit. it has a good amount of detail in the cockpit and the engine and builds into a nice solid aircraft.
I used Vallejo Model Air which I was pleased with the colours but they did clog the airbrush very quickly.Back to tamiya for the next build i think! Flory models wash for weathering with some dry brushing and a bit of tamiya soot weathering master for the heavier bits. Didn't want it too heavily weathered as i was pleased with the finish i had and didn't want to ruin it! I was pleased how the preshading turned out though - not well shown on the pics but it looks good in real life - especially on the underside and the lighter green. Oh and the eduard mask for the canopy was an absolute sanity saver!
Unfortunately camera was playing up when i took the pics (user error really) so they could be better but hope it is of interest nonetheless.
Comments and criticism welcome.

No probs - you have done a good job of it. I also have one of the 1/32 21st century stukas with the big snake decal, i may do the 1/48 stuka in BOB colours as it would be a shame not to see the big snake down the sides of the big stuka!
'Tis a bit quiet - perhaps everyones busy building

Very nice build there especially the crisp masking on the canopies, although it looks like it could be done with a Matt coat to dull the overall finish.

A 1/32 would be great - too big for me to find anywhere to put though! There are some great schemes about.
Funny you should say about the matt coat - it has had one and is a bit flatter than the pic suggests, but i agree it could do with another. The only problem is i kind of bottled it. In real life the finish looks good and I am worried I would ruin it, Do you spray or brush your varnish? So far I have only brushed as I am not sure about spraying varnish.

I spray mostly everything including my final Matt/Flat coats. Nothing to it really, a few light coats of varnish with a light rub of MicroMesh 4000 between coats. However saying that I wouldn't touch Humbrol or Xtracolor varnishes with a barge pole as they've had the tendency to dry with a White chalky appearance with me in the past, I now solely use Revell's Matt varnish thinned with Revell Colourmix.
